1. Shared network
FortiFiber Networks provides internet access over a shared access network. Capacity is finite. Ordinary household and small-business use — streaming, work, study, cloud backups, and gaming within normal patterns — is what the network is built for. The Website refers to high fair-usage limits; this Policy does not convert that description into a numeric data cap.
2. Reasonable use
Reasonable use means using your connection in a way that is consistent with the Plan you purchased and that does not systematically degrade service for neighbouring users. Examples of reasonable use include typical simultaneous devices in a home, video calls, and periodic large downloads.
Use that is not reasonable includes running a residential Plan as an undeclared public hotspot or wholesale backhaul, automated traffic that saturates a shared segment for prolonged periods in a way that harms others, or attempts to evade management measures.
3. Abuse prevention
We may act against activity that threatens Network stability or security, including malware command-and-control, open relays, denial-of-service participation, or scanning that originates from a Customer connection. We may also act where use violates the acceptable-use rules in the Terms of Service.
4. Network management
To keep the Network fair and stable, we may use reasonable network-management techniques. These can include monitoring aggregate utilisation, prioritising time-sensitive traffic in congestion, mitigating abuse, and planning capacity upgrades. Management is aimed at overall quality, not at inspecting the private content of your communications except as needed for security, fault diagnosis, or law.
5. Temporary restrictions
If a connection generates usage or traffic patterns that materially affect other Customers, we may apply temporary measures such as reduced throughput, session limits, or suspension of particular ports or applications that are being abused. Measures are intended to be proportionate and temporary where the underlying issue can be resolved.
Restrictions of this kind are not a substitute for Plan expiry. When Validity ends, Service may stop until you renew, independently of FUP.
6. Notification
Where it is reasonably practicable and would not undermine security, we will notify the Subscriber through a published channel (phone, WhatsApp, email, or portal) that a FUP or abuse-related measure has been applied, and what the Customer can do to restore normal use. Immediate action without prior notice may occur if delay would harm the Network or other users.
7. Restoration
Normal operation is restored when the contributing condition ends — for example after congestion eases, after abusive processes are stopped, or after we complete a configuration change with you. If you believe a restriction was applied in error, contact support with your Customer ID and we will review it.
8. Relationship to plans
FUP applies to all plans, including monthly and longer Validity options. Paying for a higher speed Plan does not authorise use that is unlawful or that treats the shared Network as dedicated unlimited capacity without regard to others. Commercial or leased-line arrangements may include additional performance terms in a separate agreement; those terms apply in addition to this Policy unless they expressly replace it.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy by publishing a revised version. Continued use of the Service after the updated date constitutes acceptance, subject to Applicable Law.
